COLLECTION: COUTURE ALLURE

This collection is an ode to that spirit of Haute Couture, where undecorated silks are embellished with textural trompe l’oeil embroideries, which modify the fabric itself to create an opulent and unique textile.

Embroideries with metallic yarns, floral as well as linear graphic patterns, bold graphic cutwork and varied quilting and machine looped stitch lines lending a couture-like preciousness to surfaces. The collection celebrates the possibilities achievable when stitching and embroidery machines are combined with the skill of the hand.

The result is extremely decorative yet subtle looking fabrics used for a range of garments, where fabric becomes the true hero; where luxury becomes contemporary, fresh and creative; where innovation happens at the fabric stage itself to create completely new textiles for their adaptation into modern, easy shapes for chic wearable garments to be picked off the rack.

The shapes and cuts for the collection are based on ease, comfort and classic style; the focus being on chic cocktail wear and evening jackets. The textiles have also been developed into ethnic wear incorporating a grown up take on subtle luxury.

 COLOUR PALETTE

“Precious Blackness” 

Dark hues of graphite, shale, soot, anthracite, ink, steel, pewter, mica, petrol and carbon punctuated with a visceral pink.

 FABRICS

The collection has been made entirely with silks …taffeta, raw silk, tussore, tabby, mulberry, two-tone silk, lame. The garments are completely lined in silk too.
